On November 4, 1992, the founding congress of the Belarusian Association for Artificial Intelligence was held. The congress was attended by 47 people. V.V. Golenkov was elected as the BAII Presidents, such famous scientists as R.B. Grigyanets, B.M. Gushchenskov, A.V. Zubov, B.M. Lobanov, G.P. Lopato, Martynov were elected to the BAII Council. V.V., Orlova M.A., Kharin Yu.S., Krasnoproshin V.V., Beregov B.S.
\nOn January 27, 1993, the Charter of the Belarusian Association for Artificial Intelligence was registered, which stated that the main objectives of the BAII are:
\n\u2022 Association of specialists whose professional activities are related to research and development in the field of artificial intelligence, the integration of domestic works in this area with the global scientific process;
\n\u2022 Promoting the development in the Republic of Belarus of scientific research on the problems of artificial intelligence and its applications, the creation of new technologies based on achievements in this area, accelerating the implementation of research results in the national economy;
\n\u2022 Assistance in strengthening scientific, cultural and business contacts between Belarusian and foreign scientists and technicians, as well as organizations specializing in the field of artificial intelligence.
\nThe main work of the association was focused on the opening of the specialty “Artificial Intelligence” in the Republic of Belarus and the formation of the relevant departments in universities for training specialists in this field.
\nThe result of the association’s work was the opening of the specialty “Artificial Intelligence” at the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics and the creation of the Department of Intelligent Information Technologies.
\nIn 1995, the association suspended its activities for a number of independent reasons.<\/p>\n

On July 31, 2018, the association was revived under a new name – “Belarusian Public Association of Specialists in the Field of Artificial Intelligence”. And on September 5, 2018, the association was officially registered with the Ministry of Justice.<\/p>\n
